Easy Drawing of the Skeletal System Easy Drawing of the Respiratory System

The respiratory system is a biological system in animals and plants that consists of complex organs and structures used for gas exchange. The anatomy and physiology that allow this to happen to vary greatly depending on the organism's scale, climate, and evolutionary background. The pulmonary surface is internalised as lung linings in land animals. Gas exchange occurs in the lungs across millions of tiny air sacs known as alveoli in mammals and reptiles and atria in birds. Since these microscopic air sacs have a very rich blood supply, the air is in direct contact with the blood. These air sacs connect with the outside world through a network of airways, or hollow tubes, the largest of which is the trachea, which divides in the centre of the chest into the two major bronchi. Learn how to draw the respiratory system in this article below.

How To Draw Respiratory System

This penetrates the lungs and branches into increasingly narrower secondary and tertiary bronchi, which branch into a plethora of smaller tubes known as bronchioles. Bronchioles are known as parabronchi in birds. Bronchioles, or parabronchi, are the microscopic alveoli in mammals and atria in birds that open into the bronchioles. The mechanism of breathing, which includes the muscles of respiration, must inject air from the atmosphere into the alveoli or atria.

Today we will learn How To Draw Respiratory System which is easy and enjoyable. This would be a very simple Respiratory System drawing that can be used as a learning stage to draw a professional sketch. Your biggest limitation is your creativity. Start with this simple Respiratory System diagram and work your way up to see how you can make it better. Let's begin by taking a look at some of the simple art supplies we'll be using today.

Materials required:

  • Drawing paper
  • Sharp Pencil
  • Eraser

Step – Draw the trachea

We will first start by drawing the larynx and trachea.

The larynx, also known as the voice box, is an organ at the top of the neck that helps with breathing, generating sound, and shielding the trachea from food aspiration. The laryngeal inlet is a 4–5 centimetre wide opening from the larynx into the pharynx. The larynx protects the vocal cords and controls pitch and tone, which is essential for phonation. It is located just below the point where the pharyngeal tract divides into the trachea and the oesophagus.

To draw the larynx, you will have to draw a small square. The lines need to be curved and not straight.

The trachea, also known as the windpipe, is a cartilaginous tube that attaches the larynx to the bronchi of the lungs, allowing air to flow through. It is seen in nearly all air-breathing species that have lungs. The trachea is a tube that connects the larynx to the two main bronchi. The cricoid cartilage connects the trachea to the larynx at the tip. The trachea is made up of a series of horseshoe-shaped rings that are connected vertically by overlying ligaments and the trachealis muscle at their ends. During chewing, the epiglottis blocks the entrance to the larynx.

Now we will draw the trachea. For this, we need to draw two straight vertical lines. At the end of this, we will draw two slant lines. This is where we will draw the lungs.

Step 2 – Draw the bronchus

Inside the trachea, we will draw multiple small ovals. Do this all until the end.

Step 3 – Draw the left lung

Now, we will draw the lungs. For this, we will connect the end of the trachea, we will draw a lung. Lungs are fairly triangular in shape. Let the edges be curved and not sharp.

Step 4 – Draw the right lung

On the other side, we will draw another lung. The right lung is slightly larger than the left one. Now, we will draw the pleura. For this, we will draw an outer lining on the right lung.

Step 5 – Draw the bronchiole

Let us now draw the bronchiole. Extend the trachea into the right lung. Now, from these lines, we will mark a few points. Now draw horizontal lines from these points on either side.

Step 6 – Draw the alveoli

From the bronchiole, draw multiple tiny circles on each. Do this all over the bronchiole. It will make the alveoli. Refer to the image below to understand how your lungs need to look. Also, use a pencil and draw dots all over the left lung.

Step 7 – Detail the larynx

We will not add more details to the larynx. For this, from the top of the larynx, we will draw the lines next to each other. Close this with an inverted 3-shaped design. This will make up for the wind pipe that will be connected to the nose.

Step 8 – Draw the human body

Now your respiratory system is ready. All you have to do now is draw the human head and shoulder. You can check the image below to understand how the final image has to look like.
